Wyvern Biennale
On July 30th through to August 6th Wyvern hosted the Wyvern Biennale – the Junior School Art Exhibition at the Concordia Gallery. This was the first time works from Kindergarten, Year 3 and Year 6 at Wyvern had been exhibited.
Opening evening on Tuesday July 30th was a wonderful night with Year 6 Art Monitors serving food and drink.
Murat Urlali, a student at the National Art School, was kind enough to open the evening and show two of his watercolour portraits.
Year 6 carried on the tradition of the Wyvernbald Portrait and Sculpture Prize, with Finn Walsh taking out ‘Work of the Week’ with his portrait of Norman Reedus, and Thomas Marchese winning the ‘People’s Choice Award’ with his portrait of Mohamed Ali.
Well done to all the boys who exhibited work, it was a great to experience the boy’s work in a gallery setting and to see the progression of learning from Kindergarten to Year 6.
Students will see their work at the next Biennale in two years time.
