A Message from Mr Holden

In Week 6 there will be an opportunity for you to meet with your son’s teachers via Zoom, primarily with the aim to discuss his progress so far and to set learning targets for the year. Semester 1 progress reports will follow at the end of Term 2. In Term 3 there will be a second formal opportunity for you to meet with your son’s teachers to review progress. Finally, a comprehensive end of year report will be issued at the conclusion of Term 4. To book your first meeting times for either Tuesday 2 March, 3:30pm – 6:30pm or Thursday 4 March, 3:30pm – 6:30pm, please click here.

It was terrific to see wonderful team spirit and camaraderie on display at the successful Wyvern Swimming Carnival last week. I was impressed with some outstanding individual and team performances. Congratulations to the winners of the House competition which this year was Howe. I also thank the staff team, led by Mr Wilson, who ensured the day ran smoothly.

Please note that summer sport team photos, which were due to take place on Monday 22 February, have been postponed and will now take place later in the year, early in term 4. As such, boys should wear their normal greys (summer) to school on Monday.

Artist of the Week

Years 3 – 6 Artist of the Week

Last week, boys in Year 4 were treated to a number of sports cars coming to playground A. The boys, who are studying smooth moves and the BMW Art car series, were able to draw the cars close up and use these drawings for the beginning of their designs.. The boys are excited to see how their designs look on their cars.

Year 6 toured the streets of Stanmore in order to take photographs of the graffiti and street art. This is so they can make a print with the manipulated images. They were also treated to an incursion by the Street Artist ‘Mulga’, who completed a workshop with the boys. They drew an amazing gorilla, Mulga style. This will feature in the print they are about to make.

All the boys have enjoyed these incursions and excursions.
