2nd Edition of eNews for Past Parents

Earlier this year we issued our first edition of this electronic newsletter to past parents of Newington College and we were overcome by the positive response from so many.

Of course, not every past parent has kept their contact details updated with us and so there are many that are missing out on all the good news stories that we have to offer. If you have received this from a friend or know of a past parent that is missing out, please contact us and we can update our records.

Newington’s Office of Community and Development is the contact point for all past parents and we want to keep in contact with as many of the Newington Community as possible.

We are very proud of our publications and we hope you enjoy reading the stories we bring you. We would love to hear your stories as well, so don’t be shy and let us know what you or your son are doing in your lives.

Newington is in great shape. Our academic and co-curricular program, together with the grounds, buildings and facilities, continue to allow all our boys to ‘Discover what’s Possible’. Despite having waiting lists through to 2027, we maintain priority for sons and grandsons of Old Boys as long as they are registered in accordance with the policy on our website.

This year, the College Council moved to ensure that the socio-economic diversity of Newington is maintained by establishing the Newington Endowment Fund. This fund will provide up to 100 Bursaries (means tested scholarships) by 2040. We need to raise $240 million over the next 25 years to make that a reality but this is so important that we cannot afford to fail.

This Past Parent Alumni eNews is your publication and we would love to keep in contact and hear from you with your stories. Likewise, if you do not wish to receive further news from us, please email back and let us know.

Finally, my best wishes to everybody for a joyous Christmas with your family and for a healthy and prosperous 2017.

Kind regards,

Rod Bosman (ON 1978)

Director of Community and Development
