Michael Wilkinson (ON 1995) International Bridge Success

As a result of Michael’s  Bridge team’s success in the playoff held in Coogee in February,  Michael and his team are representing Australia this year at the Asia-Pacific Bridge Championships in Bangkok. At representative level Bridge teams almost always consist of six players (playing in three partnerships) and a non playing captain. Assuming they win against both New Zealand and New Caledonia at the Zone 7 playoff (also in Bangkok), they will play in the Bermuda Bowl (which is the oldest and most prestigious of the world bridge championships – format is similar to the FIFA World Cup where countries qualify through zonal playoffs) in Chennai later this year.

Michael and his Bridge partner also represented Australia, having played in the Asia Cup in China last year.
