Container Collection for Tupou College
On Saturday 15 June, 20 Newington students helped load the resources that have kindly been donated to Tupou College by the Newington community.
On an annual basis Newington sends a 20 foot shipping container of donated items to Tupou College to give them access to the everyday things we take for granted and that they cannot afford to purchase.
The cost of the container has again been sponsored by Ken Grover from Gulliver’s Sport Travel and Barry Cotter from Self-Contained.
Our community has donated many invaluable resources over the last three years. We are hoping to enhance the teaching resources and facilities at Tupou College again this year. Resources include textbooks, school furniture, a data projector, laptops, digital cameras, 100 USBs from QANTAS, farming equipment, catering equipment, children’s toys, sporting equipment and rugby boots and 15 microscopes generously donated by SHORE and The Kings School. A scrum machine has also been jointly donated by Randwick Rugby club and Newington College Rugby Association and will be presented to the Tupou College First XV during their visit next term.
I thank all donors, students and staff for their generous support this year. There is still space in the container – it departs at the end of Week 1, Term 3!
Please email me, Cameron Quince, directly if you have any resources that you wish to donate.
