A Message from Mr Holden
Last week I attended the Commissioning Service for our new Headmaster of Newington, Mr Michael Parker. Senior staff and our School Captain, Daniel Carter played an important part in the service. The appointment of a new Headmaster is a significant time for any school and I encourage you to read Mr Parker’s excellent first official speech he gave at his Commissioning Service which can be found here. Over the last few weeks Mr Parker has also been heavily involved at Wyvern attending P&F events, school assemblies and meeting parents, staff and most importantly the boys. Thank you to all parents who attended the P&F meeting yesterday evening to ‘Meet the New Headmaster’.
In Week 6 there will be an opportunity for you to meet with your son’s teachers (both class teachers and specialist teachers), primarily with the aim to discuss his progress so far and also to set learning targets for the year. Semester 1 progress reports will follow at the end of Term 2. In Term 3 there will be a second formal opportunity for you to meet with your son’s teachers to review progress. Finally, a comprehensive end of year report will be issued at the conclusion of Term 4. An email invitation will be sent tomorrow for you to book your first meeting time for either Tuesday 5 March, 3:30pm – 6:30pm or Thursday 7 March, 3:30pm – 6:30pm.
