Artist of the Week

Artist of the Week K – 2

Orlando Mina – KL

Orlando looked at the Aboriginal sculpture by Penny Milingu Wanapuyungu titled ‘Echidna’.  He then thought about the materials that she used and experimented with a variety of materials himself. Orlando’s art work is meticulous and creative.

Artist of the Week 3 – 6

Year 3

In Year 3, Students finished their “Moonlight” prints, based on Japanese block printing. Students were shown how to use the scratch foam and make the moonlight “shine” on the water. Students also collaged cherry blossoms onto the surface of their print. All the prints were beautiful, I am so proud of Year 3.

Joel Goh “Moonlight with Cherry Blossoms”

Year 4

Students finished painting their “machine” paintings using tints and tones. This acrylic painting was painted in stages as students explored the work of Leger and his paintings of the modern age. Some original and exciting work. Well Done Year 4.

Simon Petsianis -“‘Machine” Painting

Max Gallant – “Machine” Painting

Year 5

Students in Year 5 have finished their “Gold” woodwork and painted cartouches. Some excellent examples of Egyptian motifs by these students.

Christian Mclaughlin – “Cartouches”

John David Underwood – “Cartouches”

Year 6 From Term 3

These interesting and unique group Electricity projects meant that students could explore in 3D the world of wires, lights and globes to make art.
