K – 2 Artist of the Week

Term 1 Week 11 – Ryan Low KB

Ryan created a beautiful painting of Monet’s garden using his fingertips. He used the primary colours to mix the secondary colours and experimented with adding white as a tint which created some beautiful shades of colours in his work. A lovely mini masterpiece, Ryan.

Term 2 Week 2 – Nicholas Veloz 1P

Inspired by the work of Georgia O’Keeffe, Nicholas put his heart into creating a stunning painting of a flower for Mother’s Day. He creatively experimented with line, colour and brushstrokes in his work and added a magic sprinkling of salt to create a special effect. A vibrant and beautiful artwork, Nicholas.

3 – 6 Artists of the Week

Year 5 completed ‘The 2 Newington Boys’ artworks last term. Congratulations to all boys, as it was such a big project with many facets. This work was based on Frida Khalo’s – ‘The 2 Fridas’, portraying different parts of her on her life’s journey. Both her hearts are connected by a vein, and makes reference to the bus crash and long convalescence.
