Term 2 Week 1
Congratulations this week to Deyan Nikolic in 1P for his fabulously cool cow! Inspired by the work of Dutch artist Peter Diem and linking to the story of ‘The Cow that Tripped Over the Moon’. Deyan created a creative and colourful cow in mixed media to help celebrate the Literature Festival this week. Fantastic work, Deyan.

Year 5 have finished their artworks based on ‘Pop Art and the Photo Bomb’! The boys were taken through the process of drawing a face accurately. Boys in Year 5 observed the Newington uniform, shirt and tie to create their ‘Newington Boy Portrait’. They were then let loose using their imagination to create their ‘alter ego’ portrait in order to ‘photo bomb’ the previous portrait.
The boys had a lot of fun with this art work. They also went to the AGNSW last term to see various artworks based around animals in Art.
Congratulations to Killian Douglas, Joshua Ibrahim and Roman Lewis for their interesting and unique art works.
Year 4 also completed their ‘Art Cars at Luna Park’. This art work was made up of a number of works using different techniques and ideas. Students participated in an ‘Art Car’ incursion to observe a number of different sports cars.
Congratulations to Michael Korompay and Benj Cooper for their fabulous work on cars and Luna Park.
