Artist of the Week

K – 2 Artists of the Week

Alexander, Lachlan and Flynn have worked hard on their brightly coloured Forces of Nature artwork.  They have successfully incorporated the sun and the ocean into their landscapes. They have shown movement through their thoughtful application of line and the use of warm and cool colours.  Well done boys.

3 – 6 Artists of the Week

This week, Artists of the Week come from Year 5 and Year 3.

Year 5 have been researching Historical Selfies during Term 1. They created self portraits using pencil and a sharpie. They researched the types of people that were in Australia during colonization. They then created a ‘mash up’ of themselves dressed as the historical figure, paying close attention to facial hair, uniforms, buttons and the background landscape that the person might have frequented.  The boys then created a phone cover that was unique to them. They were able to think as a designer and make a phone cover that was very modern.

The boys did a fabulous job creating these works.

Congratulations to Joel Miller, Ruben Merani and Abbas Beydoun for their excellent selfies.

Year 3 are starting a unit on Lizards. The boys were asked to observe close up views of lizard eyes and render them in chalk pastel. The boys experimented with blending charcoal and chalk pastel on earth coloured paper. The results of this work is absolutely stunning, and they can be viewed in the hallway outside the Year 3 area.

Congratulations to Cooper Bell, Owen Charles and Harry Cooper for their beautifully rendered Lizard eyes.
