Congratulations to Aiden Carter (6L)  for successfully auditioning for Opera Australia’s 2017 summer season. Aiden will be performing in Cavalleria Rusticana by Mascagni and Pagliacci by Leoncavallo as part of the small children’s chorus. This is a great honour for Aiden who has been performing in Wyvern Choir since he came to Wyvern in Year 5. His passion for performance was evident last year when he performed the lead role of Samuel in Wyvern’s musical production of Pirates of Penzance by Gilbert and Sullivan. 

Aiden said ‘I have always loved singing and performance. Experiences like theatre sports and being part of the school musical last year were right up my alley.’ He has also participated in a summer course at NIDA that helped to further develop his stagecraft and movement, while performing with the Wyvern Choir, Wyvern Chorale and Chapel Band.

When Aiden was contacted about his success he said ‘I never really expected to get in so when I found out I’d been offered a place I was astonished and overjoyed. I am very excited! We are excited for you too Aiden and can’t wait to see you on the Sydney Opera House stage!
