Reading Challenges Are Due Friday 10 August
Dear Wyvern Parents,
Wyvern boys’ first Reading Challenges are due Friday August 10th. Many boys are working on additional challenges which may be submitted when they are finished.
How can you assist your son?
- Reading Challenges logs for Years 3 – 6 are pasted in the back of your son’s diary.
- Please check to see if they have completed their challenge and handed it in. Awesome!
- If your son is still working on his challenge, please check his progress. How many more books does he need to read to finish the 2018 Reading Challenge?
- Please ensure that all books your son has read are recorded on his reading log. Often boys read books from home and forget to add these to the their reading log.
- If your son still has a few books to read, please encourage him to visit the Library before school, at recess, at lunch or after school to borrow the necessary reading materials. Please don’t just wait for Library lesson day to roll around.
- If it looks as if your son will need additional time to complete his challenge, I am happy to give an extension as I feel it is important for the boys to feel a sense of accomplishment. However, if your son is completing a Premier’s Reading Challenge, the extension can only be given until August 27th as the Premier’s website closes shortly thereafter.
If you have any questions or I can assist in any way to ensure your son completes his Reading Challenge, please let me know.
With thanks,
Mrs Barnes
Librarian
