SRC Term 4 Fundraising Events & Information
This term the Wyvern community assisted by the SRC will focus our fundraising efforts on helping to improve the lives of others. There are two initiatives that will provide an opportunity for the boys and their families to support three different charity organisations.
The first event will be a ‘Crazy Sock Day’. This event will be held on the 10th November, boys are invited to bring a pair of crazy socks to school and to wear them whilst at school, in exchange for a gold coin donation. The money raised from the gold coin donations will go towards supporting our World Vision Sponsor Child.
If you don’t have any crazy socks, or you would like to support another amazing charity, Oliver Townsend 6B has organised for boys and families to be able to purchase Ronald McDonald Socks for $3.00. These can be pre-ordered by returning the order form and the cash payment to the front office (socks will be delivered to boys classrooms on the 10th Nov). A limited number of socks will also be available to purchase on the 10th Nov (unless sold out prior). Money raised from the purchase of these socks will be donated towards Ronald McDonald House.
The second fundraising opportunity is a ‘Gift Drive’ for Barnardos Gifts for Kids. Gift collection will begin on Monday the 31st October and will end on Thursday the 1st December. Last year Newington College managed to donate 491 gifts to Baranrdos annual appeal. Barnardos need our help again in reaching their target of 18,000 gift donations for children and young people aged 0-18 years. Please remember to not wrap the gifts. This assists St Barnardos to ensure that every gift is safe and that our gifts are delivered to the child that it is best suited to.
