Tournament of Minds
This year our Tournament of Minds teams were tasked with not only solving a complex problem in a creative way but doing so in a completely digital format. Our two teams competed with many other schools on a challenged entitled Quo Vadis? The challenge asked students to imagine an object of great significance has been found and to show how this object would change the course of history as we know it. Each team selected a discipline on which to focus. Our Social Sciences team consisted of Hugh Edmundson, Gil Gracie, Hugo Verden, Yash Jayswal, Miles Jenkinson, Will Gray and Hugo Young. Our Arts team members were Tristan Holmes, Adam Younes, Guinness Devlin, Hugo Kilborn, Cameron Latham, Tommy Tweeddale and Aston Rose.
Both teams worked incredibly hard to not only write, plan and perform their story solutions but also to film and edit their final product and for the second year in a row, Newington College were victorious. Our Arts team’s submission, Garbage Day, was awarded Honours, the highest possible award this year.
All Tournament of Minds participants are congratulated for their energy, enthusiasm and dedication to this year’s competition.
