Toy Drive Supporting The Sydney Children’s Hospital Play Therapy Department

Prior to the Easter holidays, Year 2 parents and boys started a toy drive to support the Sydney Children’s Hospital Play Therapy Department. We would like to thank Year 2 parents and boys for their generosity and support. Not only was the quantity of donations beyond expectations, but the quality was superb. It was obvious that you all took this donation drive to heart and all put some thought into what you were donating. Every gift was relevant, practical and appreciated.

We collected so many amazing and thoughtful gifts. The “wish list” from the Play Therapy staff was not only met, but exceeded. We received donations of three plastic mobiles, numerous arts and craft kits, new play doh and so many interactive toys for babies. We also raised over $500 in various vouchers. We learnt that the Department try to give a birthday gift to any child who is spending their birthday in hospital. They told us that our donations were of such great quality that they will enable the Department to continue that practice for a while longer.

There was also a wonderful assortment of pre-loved toys. We were told that these toys were fantastic and would immediately be distributed and rotated between the playrooms on each ward.

All in all, it was such a successful donation drive and we want to thank Year 2 boys, and in particular the class parents, for all their support.
