SILENT AUCTION AT BACK TO NEWINGTON DAY

We are currently looking for silent auction items. This year we are engaging My Mini Auction online to maximise parents time by having the silent auction on line. If you have a business or an experience that you would like to donate, we can add to the online auction. All the funds raised will go directly back to Wyvern. Please email Julie@2xu.com with your auction items. You can also find My Mini Auction Online on Spaces.

My Mini Auction Online is NOW LIVE

FATHER’S DAY BREAKFAST

Tomorrow morning rise and shine for Breakfast with the Stars of all your sporting codes. Father’s Day Breakfast commences  at 7:30am in the playground. The Breakfast is open to all Fathers and Grandfathers of Wyvern boys and is always fun. Thank you to the Year 2 class group that have worked very hard to ensure that everyone will be catered for.

K-2 FATHER & SON CAMP

What a fabulous weekend for the boys from K-2. The sun was shining, the water was clear and inviting and there was plenty of fun to be had by all the boys and the dads. A huge thanks goes to Costa Mina who was appointed Volunteer Camp Coordinator.

All the boys were well behaved and we look forward to launching it again next year bigger and better than ever.

3-6 FATHER & SON CAMP

Due to popular demand, the camp is now SOLD OUT. The camp has attracted bookings from 180 families, a huge increase from last year, and the volunteer organisers are currently working to allocate sites for everyone. Due to limited space on Cockatoo Island, we are not able to accept any more bookings. Camp convenors will contact all parents that have booked for the camp over the next week. It’s a Halloween Theme so be scared, be very scared…

SWIMMING TOWELS

Swimming towels are back…. the first week of term 4 will be the start of the swimming program for 5 weeks. Boys are required to bring

  • Swimmers – black with Newington
  • Towel
  • Goggles
  • Bag to carry items (light weight back pack available at Uniform Shop – $20)

Orders can be paid online or via the attached form to be delivered to the front office.  Towels will be available last week of Term 3.

PLEASE SUPPORT A MOVEMENT TO HAVE NEWINGTON STUDENTS SAFE AT A PUBLIC BUS STOP

Currently over 30 boys each day are required to crowd a dangerous bus shelter shared with the general public, and close to a very busy Victoria Road in peak hour.  A parent group is seeking that this be rectified by simply   changing where the bus stops. This decision may only be made by the NSW State Government and a petition of 500 signatures would really assist.  The P&F are supportive of removing our boys from this bus stop each day and ask you to also show your support for the boys by signing the online petition and leaving a comment: http://chn.ge/18J54Mk.  You don’t need to use the bus to sign the petition. See the attached or contact phyllispeterson@optusnet.com.au for your more information. Your support is greatly appreciated.
